Thanks for checking out my Branded Surveys review. There are countless ways to make money online and one of the most popular is doing online surveys. They don’t pay a lot, but for the most part… they’re safe and simple.
With thousands of Branded Surveys reviews, you can find every opinion from good to bad. I’ll go over the common issues people are having, discuss how it works and why some think they’re a scam.
Please note, I am not affiliated with Branded Surveys. This review has been researched with information and testimonials that are available online in the public domain. Any conclusions drawn by myself are only opinions.
What is Branded Surveys?
If you’ve been doing online surveys for awhile, you may be familiar with Branded Surveys because they were once known as Mintvine. Owned by Branded Research and founded in 2012, Mintvine became an extremely popular survey site with good reviews... similar to sites like Swagbucks and Opinion Outpost.
In 2017, they re-branded themselves as Branded Surveys.
They’re still the same marketing research company that rewards members for taking paid surveys, only now they have a little more style with a more user-friendly experience.
What sets them apart from the others is the number of surveys they have to offer (more than most)… although, from recent reviews, they may be losing their advantage.
How Does It Work?
Like most paid survey companies, Branded Surveys works with clients who are willing to spend money on your thoughts and opinions.
Some of those clients include Nielsen, JD Power and Forrester.
The sign-up process is simple and open to US, Canadian and UK residents who can either join through Facebook or email.
Your earnings begin right away. Once inside, you’ll be asked to do a quick profile set-up which is worth 50 points ($0.50).
This is one thing I don’t like about online surveys.
To establish your demographic and determine which surveys are best suited to you, they need to know who you are. Unfortunately, it’s a process that some might find a little invasive.
And, to be clear… this isn’t specific to Branded Surveys. If you’re doing surveys with any market research company, at some point you’ll be asked questions such as your income, who you bank with, number of people in your household, their age, medical history, and so on…
Of course, you can tell them anything you’d like… but you’ll find variations of these same questions throughout the surveys they send you and if your answers don’t match, you’ll be disqualified.
This is one of the reasons some people complain they never qualify, while others talk about how great the surveys are…
Who Is Branded Surveys For?
Branded Surveys is for the casual online income earner who isn’t looking to replace their job, but just enjoys earning a few extra bucks and gift cards.
It can also a good place for newbies building an online business to make their first dollar and experience what it’s like to make money online.
Who It’s Not For
If you’re serious about making money online, it probably won’t be for you. While it can be a good first step on your journey from employee to entrepreneur… the amount of money you earn won’t give you the freedom and independence you’re looking for.
The advantage to making money online is that the web gives you leverage. It enables you to produce something once and get paid over and over for it.
It gives you passive income…
Generating income with paid surveys provides zero leverage. For your efforts, you only make money once.
No matter what your financial goals are (big or small), you can't beat the compounding effects of passive income.
Branded Surveys Payout
The amount you can earn with Branded Surveys increases as you earn credits and badges.
There are 3 badges...
Badges are earned by collecting credits.
- 10 survey points = 1 credit
You start out with your Bronze badge, and you need 60 credits to reach Silver.
- Bronze to Silver – 60 credits
- Silver to Gold – 210 credits
Badges are important because the higher your badge, the more points you earn…
How to Make Money with Branded Surveys
Like most market research and reward sites, money is calculated in points.
1 point equals 1 cent...
100 points is $1.00 and so on…
Points can be traded for various retail, restaurant and entertainment gift cards as well as cash via PayPal or Branded Pay.
Online Surveys - Pay per survey ranges between 10 to 300 points, and the average survey length is roughly 10 – 20 minutes.
Survey Streak – Silver and Gold members can earn additional points for completing a set number of surveys within 7 days…
- Silver Badge – 10 surveys in 7 days is worth 100 points, and 30 surveys will get you 150 points.
- Gold Badge – 10 surveys in 7 days is worth 200 points, and 30 surveys will get you 300 points.
Local Deals – these are savings from local businesses you’ll find listed in your dashboard (if available in your area).
Daily Polls – They don’t pay much, but they’re quick and easy…
- Bronze – earn 5 points
- Silver – earn 7 points
- Gold – earn 10 points
Poll Streak – Complete 10 consecutive polls (one per day) to earn 25 points. Silver members earn 50 points and Gold members earn 100 points.
Third Party Offers – earn points for signing up for various free trials (but remember to cancel the trials you don’t want before the monthly payments kick in).
Refer-a-Friend – Silver Badge members earn 50 points for each referral and Gold Badge members earn 100 points. (Bronze Badges don’t qualify for the refer-a-friend program)
Is Branded Surveys a Scam?
There are thousands of paid survey sites online, and while many of them are scams… Branded Surveys is not one of them.
Having said that, there are legitimate reasons to ask the question.
With Branded Surveys (like most paid survey companies), you’ll spend a lot of time completing surveys that you end up not qualifying for. To soften the blow, Branded Surveys will still pay you 5 points (5 cents) when this happens. It's not a lot, but better than nothing.
You may also run into issues like being locked out of your account or your points not being approved… and if you’re a suspicious person, you might think they’re trying to scam you.
There are certainly sites out there that use these tactics to avoid paying.
Again… these issues are common with every survey site. Whether you think it’s a scam or not depends on how much you trust them.
For example… you’ll find (if you’ve read the reviews), when some people tried to cash out, their points were not approved.
There are many reasons for this… but the main one is stated in their terms of service.
"In addition, User understands that payments come from revenue generated by the Third Parties. Therefore, User acknowledges and agrees that if, for any reason, an advertiser does not pay Branded, Branded reserves the right to withhold the Users' share of said revenue."
The problem is that you’ll never know if Branded Surveys was actually paid or not. You’ll have to trust them.
Generally speaking though… when comparing Branded Surveys with reviews from other survey sites, this is far less of an issue... so in my opinion, they are not a scam.
Branded Survey Reviews and Complaints
For the most part, the reviews are positive, and there are a lot of them which is a good sign. From various blogs to review sites such as Trust Pilot, people are saying good things.
The common positives are…
- Interesting surveys and a lot of them (although some recent reviews claim there are fewer surveys than there used to be).
- Good customer service.
- Multiple ways to earn points so that they add up quickly.
Not all the reviews are good though… and Branded Surveys wouldn’t be a legit company without a few complaints. It should also be noted though, you can find reviews that contradict the claims made by those who have a bone to pick...
The common issues are…
- Slow to pay (according to their terms of service, payment can take up to 15 days).
- Points not being approved and not qualifying for surveys.
- Low pay (but this is true with all survey sites).
What I Like About Branded Surveys
- Good survey sites are far and few between… so it’s great when you find a good one.
- They offer a handful of points when disqualified.
- Steady flow of surveys.
- Great looking and easy to navigate website.
What I Don’t Like
- Surveys don’t pay very much, and they definitely won’t replace your job income.
- Accumulated points can take up to two weeks for approval.
- No passive income (unless you’re an experienced online marketer who earns through referrals).
If you’d like to earn real money… Branded Surveys might not be for you… even though they’re one of the better survey sites out there.
I’m not the biggest fan of online surveys, but they do have their place in the make-money-online scene.
You shouldn’t dismiss them entirely. If you’ve never made money online before, Branded Surveys can be a good way to experience what it feels like, and gain confidence that an online income (preferably passive income) is actually possible.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope my review of Branded Surveys was helpful.
