Jewelry Candles Review

The number of ways you can make extra money today are countless. I hadn't even heard of Jewelry Candles until recently… and yet, here's another company that pays commissions for recommending their products. What's is Jewelry Candles? Well, I'll explain who they are in this review, what they do, and whether or not this could be the make money opportunity you've been looking for.

What Is Jewelry Candles?

Jewelry Candles is a direct sales company that’s not an MLM (multi-level-marketing). Instead, Jewelry Candles operates more like an affiliate marketing business, rather than one that resembles a pyramid scheme.

I’ll talk more about affiliate marketing (and what it is) in a moment, but first… a closer look at Jewelry Candles.

I should first mention, that Jewelry Candles is NOT Jewelry In Candles.

Jewelry In Candles is an entirely different company that I’m not even sure is still in business. Their social media pages haven’t been updated in awhile, and the website domain jewelryincandles.com is currently parked… as if they pulled their website down.

Jewelry Candles (no “In“), however, is alive and well… although, there is a lack of presence that makes you wonder if they may be struggling.

Inspired by Willy Wonka, Jewelry Candles began on Facebook in 2012. Today they sell a variety of products (mainly candles with jewels… as you might suspect 🙂 ) on their website and through their network of distributors.

Based out of Louisville Kentucky, their candles are hand poured and shipped all around the world.

Jewelry Candles Product Line

They may have started out with candles, but their product line has since grown to include soaps, slimes, wax tarts, sugar scrubs and bath bombs.

They’ve been creative with what they put inside as well. No longer just jewelry, you can also get cash.

With a line of Cash Candles, Cash Bath Bombs, Cash Slimes and Wax Melts… you’re playing the lottery with the potential of finding up to $2,500. Of course, you’re more likely to find the minimum amount of money inside, which is $2.

The jewelry inside is a mystery prize as well… “Is life like a box of Jewelry Candles? You never know what you’re going to get?” 😀

You’ll probably end up with the $10 prize (jewelry)… but those of you with Charlie Chocolate Factory luck… could be pulling a $7,500 ring out of your candle!

There are currently 100 scents, from floral and fruity, to chocolate chip cookies and Christmas trees…

With burn times estimated at 110 to 150 hours, Jewelry Candles is committed to using a soy based wax that is 100% vegan (in case you were wondering… I didn't even know vegan candles were a thing).

How Does Jewelry Candles Work?

If you’re unfamiliar with Jewelry Candles (or the more precisely named, and possibly out of business, Jewelry in Candles)… it works simply by letting your candle burn until your jewelry (or cash) is revealed.

Removing Jewelry from Candle

To keep it clean and undamaged, the jewelry is wrapped in foil and the burn time required to reveal it varies.

The Jewelry Candles VIP Program

Included with each starter kit (except for the website only kit as far as I can tell), you are given access to the VIP Program, which includes,

  • Expanded email/phone support
  • Exclusive sales & coupon codes (available only on representative sites)
  • Access to digital files such as high res logos
  • Order Forms and Hostess Incentives Brochures (pdf files to be printed)

Going over everything you receive in each starter package, I was most interested in the website. Having your own website is critical to online sales and marketing because you can’t rely strictly on social media platforms.

You can use social media, and sites like YouTube, to send traffic to your website, but you wouldn’t want to build your business strictly on those platforms because they often change the rules, as well as the algorithms that determine who sees your content.

This could lead to a lot of wasted time and disappointment.

Having your own website is critical (for online sales)… unfortunately, the website that comes with your starter package is just a clone of the Jewelry Candles website with your name and contact information.

Jewelry Candles Compensation Plan

This is where Jewelry Candles differentiates itself from traditional MLM’s.

I mentioned earlier that the sales model was similar to affiliate marketing. This type of marketing (which is how I earn income online) is NOT multi-level. You simply earn commissions for recommending other people’s products.

For a detailed explanation of how affiliate marketing works, you can learn more HERE.

That’s how Jewelry Candles works. Rather than buying products at wholesale prices, and selling them at retail… you simply direct people to Jewelry Candles (or your own website) through advertising, social media, blog traffic, etc. and when someone buys, you earn a commission.

This is a win-win-win business model. The customer is happy because they received a product they wanted, Jewelry candles is happy because they made a sale, and you’re happy because you earned a commission for being the broker of that sale.

I should also mention, the price the customer pays is the same whether they purchase it directly from Jewelry Candles or through you. Commission are paid as part of a marketing budget… not as a result of higher customer costs.

Of course, Jewelry Candles also supports offline sales, and with the available sales tools (catalogs, scent samplers, etc.) home parties are encouraged.

The benefits you receive as a rep are…

  • 20% off on personal purchases
  • 20% commission on sales made through your representative website

Unlike the classic multi-level-marketing business model, there are…

  • No recurring fees
  • No contracts
  • No minimum purchases
  • No quotas and,
  • No Commitments

It all sounds so good, but there must be a problem, right? Well, yes… there is, which becomes apparent once you start reading the Jewelry Candle reviews.

Jewelry Candle Reviews

In my opinion, Jewelry Candles has the potential to become a great company. People are clearly interested in the product, and the business opportunity. They’ve shown creativity with their Cash Candles and slimes.

But, when you really start looking into Jewelry Candles, you find a lack of presence.

They seem to be active online, as far as posting on social media like Twitter and Facebook. However, my guess is that they either outsource this task, or use automation software because when you read through customer questions and concerns… they never respond.

Also, they don’t seem to have much personality. What I mean by that is, nowhere on their website do they introduce themselves. You can find the odd picture on Instagram, but you don’t know who founded the company, who is running it and coming up with new ideas…

It all seems a little empty if you know what I mean.

But certainly, the big issue is not responding to customer complaints and concerns.

Of course, Jewelry Candles has some fans in their corner… not all reviews are bad. Below are a few examples of positive reviews.

Is Jewelry Candles a Scam?

It should be apparent that Jewelry Candles is not a scam. However, there are reasons that some might say that’s not entirely true.

First, I am absolutely NOT accusing Jewelry Candles of being a scam. The issue people are having is that they’ve ordered and paid for products, but haven’t received them (as stated in the reviews above). They’ve contacted support with no response, and sometimes the order does not even show in their account.

As I share these Jewelry Candles complaints, I want to be clear… this is not to discourage you from buying or becoming a Jewelry Candles representative. In fact, it’s just the opposite.

I think there's a simple fix here… call it constructive criticism. By just acknowledging their customers (as any successful business does), Jewelry Candles could make significant leaps forward in both sales and reputation

Jewelry Candle Complaints

As I said above, I don’t think Jewelry Candles is a scam. But I do think they need to improve their customer service based on these reviews.

And although I’ve already said it… I’ll say it again. I think there is tremendous potential here. A little improvement in customer service and letting people know you’re taking care of them will go a long way.

What I Like About Jewelry Candles

  • It’s not a pyramid scheme. I like that they follow the affiliate marketing model for their online sales, and also provide tools and materials for offline sales such as catalogs and scent samplers.
  • They sell a unique product. I hadn’t heard of it before, but as I looked more into Jewelry Candles (and other similar companies) candles, soaps, etc. with jewelry are quite popular. As a representative, it could be a relatively easy sell.
  • You can join and get started for as little as $19.95. It’s not uncommon to find online businesses you can start for twenty bucks… but offline businesses usually cost more.
  • For representatives, I like that there are no quotas, no contracts, and no minimum sales targets.

What I Don’t Like

  • The Jewelry Candles complaints. I can’t comment personally on their customer service, but the complaints from others are not encouraging. Hopefully Jewelry Candles can turn this around, which I think would do wonders for their business.
  • Their return policy is only 7 days. One of their direct competitors allows up to 30 days for returns… which is more in line with the retail industry, and suggests they may be more customer driven. If it were me, I’d look at everything my competitors were doing… and make it my mission to do it better. It might not always be possible… but at least you would establish yourself as a market leader.
  • In my opinion, Jewelry Candles could use some personality. A “meet the team” section on their website for example. Most successful businesses have a story, with names and faces of those who helped (and the villains who hurt) them along their jouney.

Final Thoughts

When my wife first mentioned them, I said,

“What are Jewelry Candles? A candle you stick jewelry on?”

She looked at me with a what the heck are youthinking look, lol.

“No, you don't put the jewelry on the candle”, she said.

I thought she was talking about a Bedazzler for candles or something. I guess I hadn't thought it through…

“It’s jewelry inside of candles”, she explained.

“Oh… inside of candles”, I said. “I get it…”.

Only I didn't really it.

What's the point I thought. What can you do with jewelry inside a candle?

After a little research I figured it out, and I also learned that jewelry candles are a popular trend. A trend that you may even be able to make money with.

I’ve mentioned my concerns with Jewelry Candles, which are mainly customer service related. As a business opportunity however, I think there’s a lot of potential here.

I think it would be difficult to replace your job with Jewelry Candles, but as a way to make some extra money, considering it doesn’t cost much to get started, I’d recommend it.

I hope my Jewelry Candles review was helpful, and if you have any questions, comments or even a review of your own… please share in the comments section below 😀

Cheers,
Jay

  2. Candles with rings inside gifts are the perfect way to propose! You get the benefit of a beautiful ring and a romantic candle-lit dinner all in one go. Plus, the candles come in all shapes and sizes, meaning you can find the perfect one to fit your relationship. Here are four reasons why you should consider proposing with a candle-with-a-ring:

  3. Giving a candle as a gift is a popular tradition, but many people don’t know that you can buy candles that have rings inside of them. it is important to choose a style that suits the occasion. For example, if you are giving this.

  4. Wait, what did I just read? SOY CANDLES??

HAHA! Okay, that’s a first for me. I agree with you, Jewelry Candles does have a lot of potential to succeed in their business by being transparent with who they are and by responding to their customers. What a waste, I wish the founders of Jewelry Candles will stumble upon your review one day and see what they need to improve on. Their products are definitely unique tho! Did you try purchasing one?

    • Lol… I need to learn more about candles too I guess.

My wife was thinking of buy of some as Christmas presents… which is why I looked into what Jewelry Candles were. But the long delivery times posted by many is what made her decide not to… so no, we haven’t purchased one yet. She will, however, just not as gifts that need arrive by a specific time. I’ll update the product part of the review when she does, however.

Thanks for your comments as well, and insight 🙂
