What if you had a road-map with turn-by-turn directions from where you are now, to where you dream of being?
Here's the problem…
The map is locked in a box and you need a 3-digit “combination” to open it?
It's the same combination every successful online-preneur knows. Because let’s face it. Not knowing the combination sucks.
You can hold the box in your hands, shake it, listen to it, but you can’t open it.
You can look for a shortcut (as many do) and break the box open. But without the combination the map is useless. Unreadable.
Jibberish.
So Jay, tell me… what’s this 3-digit “combination” to my dreams you speak of?
Well first, and to be clear, I said dreams. Turning those dreams into reality is still up to you.
It's not a magic map… I mean, that would be ridiculous right?
Or would it?
“Expecto-mapo-dreamo”
Anything? Anything at all?
No?
Me neither…
Alrighty then, back to the “combination” (air-quotes for effect 😀 because the “combination” is all about your mindset, not about fumbling with tiny numeric dials)
It’s a set of 3 simple rules to follow. And like any combination, all 3 are required. The good news is they are simple… although stupid me still struggled with each one.
Here they are…
#1 Whatever It Is You Do… *DO IT*. GO ALL IN. Don't *Give It A Try*
I know quite a few people who earn full-time incomes online, and I can tell you one thing for sure…
They didn’t “try” to do it.
They did it. They made a decision to do what was necessary and they remained loyal to that decision
The person at the gym who lost 50 pounds didn’t “try” to lose 50 pounds. They did it.
Giving something a try is “meh”. A preemptive excuse to quit when it gets hard.
“I tried”
Sure, there's a time for dipping your toes in and testing the waters. But sooner or later you either jump in, or you don't.
“Do, or do not”, as Yoda says.
“There is no try.”
Nothing of consequence was ever achieved by just “giving it a try”.
#2 Have Realistic Expectations
We're talking about making money online here, but all 3 rules apply to everything. It doesn't matter if you're training for a marathon, going to med school, or learning the guitar.
It won't be easy. It's going to take time.
When it comes to expectations about making money online, what's realistic? It’s hard to know what’s real and what’s bullsh*t.
That’s because most people don’t make money online, and they don’t know anyone who does either.
You have no point of reference.
In the OFFLINE world this is easy. You wanna make 100K? Ask someone who makes 100K.
Look it up. Find a job that pays 100K and figure out what it's going to take.
But how do you know what’s realistic ONLINE?
I can tell you what’s NOT realistic. Quick and easy is not realistic. 50K per month working one hour per day is not realistic.
I use that example because a newbie recently posted it as their goal. Of course, it's not their fault 50K a month working one hour a day would seem realistic. The idea had to come from somewhere…
Mr. Gooey-Roo perhaps?
Here’s the thing…
If you don’t make money online and you don’t know anyone who makes money online, that’s an important clue.
If it were easy, everyone would do it. That doesn't mean you can't do it.
It about expectations…
Millions of people go to school for years just to get a job that pays 60K. If THEY can do that, YOU can certainly do what it takes for an internet lifestyle.
#3 Be Willing to Invest in Yourself
I made this mistake.
With so many scams our there (and having gone down that road before), I flat-out refused to spend money. It was my personal rule.
I figured there was enough free information online so for my first serious year-and-a-half, that's what I used. Free information. Can you guess how much money I made my first year-and-a-half online?
Zilch!
Nada!
It's not that it can't be done.
The problem is NOT that there isn't enough free information out there. The problem is there’s TOO MUCH free information out there.
You could spend a lifetime sifting through it all (and you might get lucky).
But If your mindset is NEVER spend money to make money, you’ll never unlock the box. I’m not saying freebies are bad.
In fact, I think freebies are the best way to get started (which is why this free course is what I recommend for newbies)
But don’t underestimate the value of a real online education. Be willing to invest in yourself and in your education.
So, there you have it… the 3-digit “combination” that unlocks the box 😀 Three simple rules…
1. Whatever It Is You Do… *DO IT*. GO ALL IN. Don't *Give It A Try*
2. Have Realistic Expectations
3. Be Willing to Invest in Yourself
And now that you know the “combination”, here’s your roadmap
